Artisan bread. Real butter. Cheeses you can actually taste. And a full bar for when the sandwich is just the beginning.
Grilled Cheese, Please started with a simple frustration: everywhere we went, the grilled cheese was an afterthought. Soggy bread. Processed cheese slices. Butter that had seen better days.
So we built a place where the grilled cheese is the main event — and we treat it that way. Real sourdough from local bakeries. Cheeses chosen for how they melt and taste, not how long they last on a shelf. Butter — real butter — on the outside of every sandwich. Cooked in cast iron, not microwaved.
And because a sandwich this good deserves a proper drink beside it, we opened a full bar. Cocktails that actually taste like something. Beers from breweries we've visited and talked to the brewers about. Coffee that doesn't taste like it's been sitting under a heat lamp since 6 AM.
A neighborhood café that doesn't take itself too seriously, with the kind of quality that speaks for itself.
Whether it's a quick lunch alone, a coffee with a friend, or a Friday evening with a cocktail and a plate to share — the space works for all of it.
We're not trying to turn your table in three times before you finish your drink. Stay as long as you need. The coffee stays warm.
Every sandwich is built by hand, cooked in cast iron, and plated like it matters — because to us, it does. That's not pretension. That's just standard.
Coffee in the morning. Sandwiches through lunch. Cocktails and bar food in the evening. One menu, one kitchen, one place that never clocks out on quality.
We're on Route 981, easy to find, easy to park. A neighborhood spot that doesn't require a detour or a reservation — just show up and sit down.
Local suppliers, local hires, a space that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood. We're not passing through — we're planting roots.
We're right off Route 981 in Avonmore — easy to find, easy to park, impossible to miss once you smell the butter hitting the cast iron.
